What is the UniReady Enabling Program?
The UniReady Enabling Program is a free, flexible academic program designed to prepare you for successful entry into higher education. With a focus on enhancing academic literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills, as well as understanding discipline-specific concepts, this program offers a pathway into university by building a strong foundation for your future academic and career pursuits.
UniReady can be studied on-campus, online or a combination of both. The course duration is 17 weeks and can be started in the first or second semester, offering flexibility to suit your schedule. If you choose to pursue this program at the Pilbara University Centre or Curtin Kalgoorlie campus, you will be offered a combination of in-person and online support. Upon successfully completing the program, you will meet Curtin’s minimum admission criteria of a 70 ATAR and English language proficiency and will be eligible to apply for the wide range of undergraduate courses as listed below.
UniReady was a very supportive stepping stone into university that I needed after going through a lot of stress and receiving a poor ATAR in Year 12. I was determined to be able to study what I wanted, and it only made sense to at least try. I feel like UniReady eased me into university life. I didn’t want to have to move from Port Hedland to Perth to study just yet, so studied the program online, which was really great. I now study a double degree in disciplines I am passionate about, and mentor new UniReady students, too.
Courses
Completing UniReady will give you the criteria required to apply for direct entry into the below courses. Where applicable, you can apply for double majors and double degrees so long as UniReady meets the entry criteria for both majors or courses. You may be eligible to apply for other courses if you meet the course prerequisites.
Please note: some courses only have a semester 1 intake, so if you start UniReady in semester 1, you will not be able to start these degree courses until semester 1 the following year. Check the course intake on the individual course page.
Courses with higher level entry requirements
UniReady can also be a pathway to health, science or engineering courses that have higher-level entry requirements. After completing UniReady, you can enter Health Sciences or Multidisciplinary Science, for example, and then apply to switch into your chosen course once you have completed the required units. Access the following quiz for more information about these courses.
