Can units completed under one course be transferred to a new course if I course switch?

UPDATED 20 DEC 2024 | 6:14AM

You may be eligible to have previously completed Curtin units credited over to your new course if the completed units are the same or equivalent, or if you have elective unit requirements in your new course. This means you will not have to repeat the same units when you are admitted in the new course, or may not have to take all your elective units in your new course.

Previously completed core units should automatically credit across to your new course. If the unit is part of an option list/alternate core, you will need to select the unit on eStudent yourself for the system to auto-credit it. If this does not work, contact Curtin Connect. Note that there is a limit of 250 credit points of first-year level units (including credited units) in any bachelor’s degree and completed units can only be considered for credit if they have been successfully completed within the last 10 years. If you believe that you are eligible for a unit to be auto-credited in your new course and it is not appearing on your new study plan, please contact .

Please note, auto-credit is not the same as Credit For Recognised Learning (CRL).
