What are Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships?

Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships are to assist Indigenous students from low socio-economic backgrounds to undertake an enabling course, associate degree or bachelor degree at Curtin University.
Curtin University offers the following Commonwealth Scholarships:
  •  Indigenous Commonwealth Education Scholarship (ICECS): For eligible Indigenous students undertaking an enabling, associate degree or bachelor degree who can demonstrate financial hardship.
  •  Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (ICAS): For eligible Indigenous students undertaking an enabling , associate degree, or bachelor degree who can demonstrate financial hardship and relocated / will be relocating to commence their study.
You can apply for both scholarships if you meet the eligibility criteria:
Please note:
  • Priority will be given to students from regional or remote area of Australia.
  • The ICECS cannot be held in conjunction with the Student Start-Up Scholarship / Loan offered through Centrelink or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
  • The ICAS cannot be held in conjunction with the Relocation Scholarship / ABSTUDY Residential Costs Option offered through Centrelink.
