Do I need a visa to attend my graduation ceremony?

UPDATED 09 OCT 2023 | 4:03AM

If you are on a student visa and it is due to expire before your graduation ceremony, you may be able to apply for another visa, such as a visitor visa, to attend your ceremony. To apply for another visa, you will need a letter from Curtin confirming the date of your graduation ceremony. You can find more information about obtaining a Letter of Graduation on the Current students website. If you require more information on applying for another visa, please visit the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) website

Curtin Connect staff can produce a Letter to Confirm Graduation Ceremony only once the student has been set to passed and once the specific ceremony dates have been published.
This is because the automatically generated wording in this letter states that "This is to certify that STUDENT NAME has completed the COURSE NAME at Curtin University. STUDENT NAME has registered to attend the graduation ceremony that will take place on CEREMONY DATE in Perth, Western Australia."
Please check ceremony dates on the Graduations Website.
If students insist on a letter before results release, and they are in their final Study Period, Curtin Connect staff can issue a Letter to Confirm Enrolment with the additional line "Upon successful completion of Semester XX 20XX, STUDENT NAME will be eligible to graduate".
