What is a specialisation or minor?

UPDATED 03 DEC 2024 | 4:32AM

A specialisation or minor is a recognised set of units that you may be able to take as part of your course. They are made up of 100 credits worth of units and in some courses, they are part of the requirements. Alternatively, if you have 100 credits worth of electives in your course, you will be able to apply to have a specialisation.

You can use the online handbook to check your course structure and to view the specialisations available at Curtin.

Completed specialisations and minors will only appear on your academic transcript and not on your award certificate.

If you wish to apply for a specialisation, please contact .
