What are peer-reviewed journal articles and how can I find them?

UPDATED 13 NOV 2024 | 7:58AM

Peer-reviewed journal articles (also known as refereed articles) are articles that have been reviewed by other scholars in the author’s field of research to assess the article for its validity, quality, and originality to ensure its scholarly excellence.

They can be found by searching the library catalogue and databases. When you perform a search, look for filter options that allow you to limit your search to 'Peer-reviewed articles'. The Search tools page on the Finding Information guide contains short videos on how to find peer-reviewed journal articles.
