I am an international student. Can I defer my Letter of Offer to the next intake?

Yes, depending on your circumstances, you have the following options to defer your Letter of Offer: ▪ I have received my Letter of Offer, but have not accepted or received a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE): Please lodge a request at the Ask International web link. Please note - some courses only have limited intakes per year and may require a reassessment of qualification. Once you are deemed eligible for the next available intake, you will be sent an updated Letter of Offer reflecting your new commencement date. ▪ I have accepted my Letter of Offer and received a COE: Please lodge a request at the Ask International web link. Please note - some courses only have limited intakes per year and may require a reassessment of qualification. Once you are deemed eligible for the next available intake, you will be issued a new letter of offer. You must then accept your offer on the Applicant Portal within the deadline included in the offer to avoid your COE from being cancelled.

  Student Visa If you have applied for your student visa and are still waiting for an outcome, you must attach the updated COE to your student visa application through ImmiAccount to update the Department of Home Affairs of your change of intake. Once your student visa has been granted you should not travel to Australia earlier than 3 weeks prior to your new course start date. Being in Australia for an extended period without an active enrolment may be a breach of your visa conditions, which could lead to a cancellation. OSHC If you purchased your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) through Curtin University, we will organise a change of policy date (additional payment may be required). If you have arranged your own OSHC, it is your responsibility to organise a change of policy date with your OSHC provider accordingly and attach the new evidence of OSHC to your ImmiAccount along with your new COE.
