How does the application process work?

UPDATED 14 FEB 2023 | 12:05AM

Application procedures differ depending on when you are applying.

To apply for an undergraduate degree in Semester One, if you are not a previous Curtin (or WAIT) student, you are required to apply online through the Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC). Applications open in mid-August. Your application, along with all supporting certified documentation of previous qualifications, is then forwarded on to the University Admission Centre at Curtin to be assessed and processed for eligibility. If your application is successful in the main round, you will receive a Letter of Offer by email in January, or alternatively you may receive a second round offer in February. You will also be able to check on the TISC website if you have been made an offer.

To apply as a direct entrant after first and second round offers or for midyear entry for undergraduate courses, you are required to submit a direct application to the University Admission Centre.

Please note that Curtin courses (both undergraduate and postgraduate) can be applied for using the Curtin online application system. Search for your course through the course finder to make sure you reach the right application page.

To apply for undergraduate entry during Curtin's midyear intake or outside the TISC rounds, please submit an online application via the 'Apply Now' button on your chosen course page.

To apply to a postgraduate coursework course, please submit an online application via the 'Apply Now' button on your chosen course page.

Curtin also offers higher degree by research and higher degree by coursework courses. Checklists on how to apply for each are available via the Future Research Students page and our online admission application process:

Further information for postgraduate applicants can be found on the Curtin website.
