Overview

Overview

This major enables working professionals without experience in human resources management to gain expertise and professional competencies in areas of the HR management continuum.

It is particularly suited to human resource managers and employment-relations professionals and consultants who are interested in optimising workplace performance and engagement through macro- and micro-based negotiation, comparative global human resource management and employment relations, and HR analytics and research.

The course comprises in-class learning, collaborative projects and guided independent research.

Topics include:

  • building high-performing teams
  • remuneration and performance
  • strategic HR planning
  • HR analytics employment relations
  • health and safety management.

What you'll learn

  • apply a comprehensive understanding of human resource management theories and techniques to identify and address organisational HR challenges, integrating diverse perspectives to develop effective solutions, GC1, GC2
  • utilise critical thinking skills to evaluate and integrate information from various credible sources, making evidence-based decisions on HR issues within organisations, GC1, GC2, GC3
  • demonstrate effective communication, leadership, and technological proficiency in HR management contexts, employing empathetic practices to influence and disseminate information ethically and responsibly, GC3, GC4, GC6
  • evaluate and apply global HR management practices, recognising cultural differences and ethical considerations, while fostering ongoing learning and professional development to contribute to the field of HR, GC4, GC5, GC6
