This major is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and leadership qualities necessary to address the complex challenges of global change and sustainability. Through a multidisciplinary approach, students will assess, analyze, and synthesize knowledge on sustainability, recognizing the interconnectedness of society, the economy, and the environment. Emphasis will be placed on critical analysis of corporate sustainability issues, ethical decision-making, and applying advanced proficiency in sustainability management theories. Students will also develop advanced proficiency in utilising leadership skills and tools to influence positive change processes and foster sustainability outcomes.

What you'll learn

  • assess, analyze, and synthesize knowledge on global change and sustainability, recognizing the interconnectedness of society, the economy, and the environment with a leadership perspective, GC1, GC3, GC4, GC5
  • critically analyse corporate sustainability, governance, and reporting issues, leveraging leadership qualities and employing creative and innovative thinking to explore and address broader perspectives, GC2, GC4, GC5, GC6
  • reflect and participate constructively in ethical decision making consistent with sustainability principles, GC1, GC5, GC6
  • apply advanced proficiency and specialized knowledge in key sustainability management theories, concepts, and principles to conduct a rigorous critical evaluation of the global environmental, social, and economic challenges confronting businesses, GC1, GC4, GC6
  • demonstrate advanced and integrated proficiency in utilizing tools, mechanisms, and leadership skills essential for influencing and leading change processes, fostering positive environmental, economic, and social outcomes in support of sustainability, GC1, GC2, GC3, GC4, GC5, GC6
