Outline
This extension specialisation would suit chemical engineering students who have an interest in process systems engineering, which lies at the interface between chemical engineering, mathematics and computing. It provides a springboard to the use of data analytics and modelling techniques in the process industries. Students will learn about numerical methods and programming techniques relevant to engineering problems, strengthen their skills in first principles and data-driven modelling of process systems, develop skills in advanced data analytics, and gain familiarity with advanced process control techniques.
What you'll learn
- Demonstrate a conceptual understanding of fundamental science, mathematics, data analytics, information science, sustainability principles and/or computing, GC1
- Solve chemical engineering problems of industrial and societal significance via innovative and creative design or research, working individually or in teams, GC2
- Select and use current and emerging technologies to develop and communicate effective and innovative chemical engineering solutions to complex problems, GC3
