A targeted offering focused on the development of allied skills in data analytics and electronic/computer systems engineering. Development of Curtin’s data analytics offerings: Logical extension of Curtin’s data analytics offerings allowing students to focus their analytics on a particular industry with a demonstrated need for high level data processing and analysis skills.

This major sits within the double degree combination of Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science. To apply for this major, you will apply for the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science double degree.

You’re considered someone who has recently left university if:

Applicants with higher education are those whose highest level of study since leaving secondary education is a higher education course, such as a university degree. This may include applicants who are currently studying a higher education course at another education provider and want to transfer to Curtin University, or applicants who are currently studying at Curtin but want to switch to a different course. It may also include applicants who have completed past study with university and non-university higher education providers.

Curtin course switcher criteria

To switch into this course, you need to have:

  1. Attained an ATAR of 80 or above

    or

    Completed 200 credit points in the Indigenous Pre-Science and Engineering Enabling Course

    or

    Completed a total 100 credit points with at least 75 credit points completed in the semester prior to course switching in the Bachelor of Science (Multidisciplinary Science) or another Curtin undergraduate course

    or

    Completed a total 100 credit points with at least part-time enrolment of 50 credits in the two continuing semesters prior to course switching in the Bachelor of Science (Multidisciplinary Science) or another Curtin undergraduate course

  2. Met ATAR Mathematics Methods prerequisite (or equivalent)
  3. Met one of the following prerequisites (or equivalent): ATAR Physics, ATAR Chemistry, ATAR Engineering Studies
  4. Achieved an academic status of Good Standing


Prerequisite Information

The ATAR Mathematics Methods prerequisite can be met with one of the following Curtin unit:
MATH1014 Foundations of Calculus
MATH1016 Calculus 1

The ATAR Physics pre-requisite can be met with the following Curtin unit:
PHYS1006 Foundation of Physics

The ATAR Chemistry prerequisite can be met with the following Curtin units:
CHEM1003 Introduction to Chemistry and CHEM1001 Biological Chemistry

Higher education course switcher criteria

To switch into this course from another higher education provider, you need to have:

  1. A minimum ATAR/ Selection Rank of 80
    Note: Selection Ranks are assessed based on your tertiary studies

  2. Met ATAR Mathematics Methods prerequisite (or equivalent)
  3. Met one of the following prerequisites (or equivalent): ATAR Physics, ATAR Chemistry, ATAR Engineering Studies 
  4. Achieved an academic status of Good Standing
