Overview
Overview
Mechanical engineering is the study of things that move, such as heat flow, fluid flow, or dynamic mechanical components. This specialisation focuses on mechanical dynamics (the study of moving objects as independent objects or components of a system) and teaches the fundamental principles of how dynamic systems behave and how to control unwanted behaviour. It will build on the engineering foundation learnt in the core units of the Engineering First Year program.
What you'll learn
- Demonstrate a conceptual understanding of fundamental science, mathematics, data analytics, information science, sustainability principles and/or computing, GC1
- Solve mechanical dynamics and vibration problems of industrial and societal significance via innovative and creative design or research, working individually or in teams, GC2
- Select and use current and emerging technologies to develop and communicate effective and innovative engineering solutions to complex problems, GC3
