Overview

Overview

This specialisation is aimed for students in diverse Engineering disciplines. It provides an exposure to the contemporary techniques for exploration and exploitation of mineral resources. Students will develop basic skills required for the design and operation of surface and underground mines. Mining operations require input from multidisciplinary engineering teams and a completion of this specialisation will enhance the level of your communication within these teams. This will contribute to a successful career in mining industry.

  • Demonstrate a conceptual understanding of fundamental science, mathematics, data analytics, information science, sustainability principles and/or computing, GC1
  • Solve mining engineering problems of industrial and societal significance via innovative and creative design or research, working individually or in teams, GC2
  • Select and use current and emerging technologies to develop and communicate effective and innovative mining engineering solutions to complex problems, GC3
