Overview
This extension specialisation will enable students to build and expand on knowledge developed through the Civil Engineering major, providing a solid grounding in advanced water and wastewater engineering management, along with an understanding of environmental issues surrounding engineering development. Key concepts covered are hydraulic principles and structures; planning, design, operation and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection networks; calculating and managing flood events; surface and groundwater flow, interaction, quality and contamination; solid and hazardous waste management; air quality and pollution control.
