How do I apply for a leave of absence (LoA)?

Follow the steps below to apply for a leave of absence:

1.  Log in to OASIS

2.  Click on the 'My Studies' tab

3.  Scroll to the 'Study Essentials' section from the right side menu

4.  Select the Leave of Absence link

5.  Complete the required fields on the form and submit.

Important LoA information: Please read the information below to ensure you are aware of any additional information or conditions that may impact you when applying for an LoA. Applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis. More information can be found on the Leave of Absence webpage. An approved leave of absence allows you to take a break from your course for a period of up to 12 months while retaining your place in the course. If you stop continuous study without an approved LoA, your course status may be set to , and you will need to re-apply for your course if you wish to continue your studies. OUA students Please contact OUA directly to apply for leave. You must have completed at least one unit of your course to be able to apply. More information can be found on the OUA Leave of Absence webpage. HDR students Please follow the process outlined on the HDR forms, guidelines and policies page. Curtin transnational campus students If you are studying at one of Curtin’s transnational campuses, please liaise directly with your local administration team for advice. Studying overseas Contact Curtin’s Go Global team via email at goglobal@curtin.edu.au and complete the Student Travel Approval Process requirements, in addition to completing the LoA form.
