Why is the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) premium in my offer letter different from what is listed on Medibank's website?

UPDATED 02 JUL 2024 | 7:14AM
Curtin University has established partnership agreement with Medibank Private, allowing us to negotiate better rates and benefits for our students. This is why the premium in your offer letter is more competitive than if you are purchasing directly through the Medibank website.
Additionally, if you wish to consider purchasing Medibank Comprehensive OSHC through Curtin University, you will enjoy exclusive benefits offered to Curtin students such as, Medibank has waived the waiting periods for Mental Health services (including those that are in hospital and/or pre-existing conditions) and Pregnancy and birth services. We also waive the wait period for students with pre-existing conditions to access out of hospital medical services e.g. GP services and Prescription Medication.  For further details, please refer to the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) page on our website.
Please note that you have the option to purchase OSHC from other approved Australian health insurance providers. You will need to these providers directly to set up your OSHC Policy. If you wish to extend your current health cover, you must contact your current OSHC provider directly.
Should you have any queries, please contact Medibank OSHC team on 134 148 or they can also be contacted via oshc@medibank.com.au. A Medibank representative is also available on campus at Curtin Connect building 102 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.
